Building Automation Systems can involve a number of different aspects depending on the size or complexity of the project at hand. Primarily it's reviewing specifications and drawings and compiling the correct documentation to start the programming and engineering phase of a project. This is where the hardwork is to take place, all in the preparation and planning so you have a clear path of what is required to deliver the required tasks.

Commissioning of a job, to tick off that a sensor or piece of equipment is working as expected is a key part of the role. If at this phase something is missed then the operation of the plant could be hinded and cause incorrect readouts that aren't correct, misleading other operators or the facility manager trying to find out if his or her plant is operating as expected.

With todays technology we can configure each system to enable access remotely so this phase can be done away from site.

Once a system is installed it's always best practice to keep up the miantenance of that equipment. Similiar concept to servicing your car or mode of transport. In this case, the BMS world, it's making sure sensors read correctly, valves or dampers drive when requested too, equipment turns on or off when asked to do so, alarm outputs trigger when needed. 

We offer and recommend continual maintenance based packages for all our installations and others too. 

With any task or job it needs to be managed well.

That could involve management of day to day staff or subcontractors, delegating responsibilities for a particular project, organising OH&S and safety requirements, weekly or monthly meetings about how projects are running or what difficulties could arise.
